Most packaging does not really disappear. Conventional plastic breaks into smaller and smaller fragments, shedding microplastics that end up in soil, water and the food chain. Even many “degradable” plastics simply fragment faster. The result is the same: tiny plastic particles that never fully go away.
Plant-based water-soluble nonwoven takes a different path. It is a plant-derived, water-dissolvable material, not a petroleum derivative. Placed in 90°C water, it dissolves completely within 5 to 10 minutes, leaving no microplastics behind. What remains continues to biodegrade in soil and water into carbon dioxide, water and biomass. It is independently certified to ISO 14851, with over 60% biodegradation within 71 days and over 90% within two years.
Why microplastics are the real problem
Microplastics are not just litter. They are small enough to travel by wind and water, to be taken up by plants and animals, and they are very hard to remove once released. Single-use packaging is one of the largest sources. Cutting microplastics means choosing materials that dissolve or biodegrade cleanly, rather than ones that fragment.

The difference is in how the material ends its life. Fragmenting plastics break apart into persistent particles. Plant-based water-soluble nonwoven dissolves into the water instead of breaking apart, so nothing is left behind to become a microplastic. It is engineered to stay strong and printable in everyday use, then dissolve on demand in hot water.
